Refer to the "How to apply" section if you require a disability-related accommodation. **What can I expect to do in this role?**: In this role you will; - Provide day-to-day communications expertise and content for the Agency by developing internal - Identify and analyze emerging issues and planned communications activities through media monitoring and other communications evaluation tools, liaising with the Ministry of the Environment's Communications Branch as necessary - Develop, maintain, edit and update content relating to the Agency's internal and external websites and social media channels - Coordinate the design, development and maintenance of the structure of the Agency's intranet and website - Oversee specialized communications and marketing projects by developing the project plans, researching and recommending resources - Work with other departments to write all-staff communication that is clear, concise and suitable for the audience - Develop stakeholder relationships in support of OCWA's mandate and communications strategies - Provide writing/editorial services including writing, editing and proofreading to ensure copy is written in plain language and free of grammatical/formatting errors to be used in marketing/communications - Assist in the development, rollout and publicity of marketing and community outreach activities and initiatives - Work with marketing to support simple design materials - to be used for social media, website or publicity purposes **How do I qualify?**: **Knowledge**: - Excellent knowledge of communications and/or journalism with an understanding of contemporary communication theory, principles and practices in order to develop effective communication strategies to support core business goals and priorities - Superior knowledge of communication principles and practices to coordinate communication processes and participate in the planning and implementation of communication projects and initiatives - Knowledge of the communications and design techniques and software required to develop and maintain external and internal websites, and other multi-media products - Knowledge of social media trends and practices within a business setting **Skills and Abilities**: - Highly developed interpersonal skills are required to liaise effectively with Agency staff, management and external stakeholders (including Government and media) to research, investigate, evaluate and assemble quality content for a variety of formats and audiences - Project management skills to effectively plan, organize, execute, monitor and evaluate communications projects, and meet project commitments - Excellent written and oral communications skills, especially writing and editing to ensure clarity and accuracy of communications - Ability to set priorities among competing demands/tasks while adhering to set timeframes/deadlines. - Ability to work through problems independently and consult with management as necessary. **What's in it for you?**: - Flexible learning and development opportunities. - This position works 36.25 hours per week with a flexible schedule and hybrid work model. - Opportunities for career advancement and specialization with the largest provider of water and wastewater services in Ontario. - Work with the partner of choice for more communities than any other water and wastewater service organization in Ontario for over 25 years. - Work with an organization committed to innovation and advanced technology. - Work with a dynamic team of engineers delivering technical services to over 200 municipalities within Ontario. - A defined benefit pension plan; Comprehensive Health Plan; Life and Disability Insurance. - Maternity and parental leave top-up benefits including for adoptive parents. **Additional
