We are currently hiring an experienced SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER out of our head office in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

**Basic Purpose**:

- Establish practices and procedures ensuring the company remains in compliance with all applicable laws. (National Safety Code, FMCSA, Vehicle Size & Weight Laws, Federal Labor legislation).
- Manage all Cargo and Accident Investigation and Claims.
- Manage all annual permits (OD, LCV, etc.).
- Manage PIP/CTPAT programs.
- Oversees licensing of all fleet vehicles.
- Oversees Health and Safety program.

**Compliance**:
**-**Responsible for monthly monitoring of safety profiles (U.S. and Canada)
- Documentation of positive and negative inspections (Driver Diary), and follow up
- Facilitate payment of fines/proof of payment
- Compile violation records (Driver Diary)
- Monitor Speed/Critical Event reporting.
- Challenge inaccurate violations whenever possible to mitigate impact on Searcy safety profiles
- Ensure all Annual Permits (LCV/Provincial OD/etc.) are kept up to date
- Provide corrective action recommendations and support to Operations Managers.

**Accidents & Cargo Claims**:

- Coordination for clean-up, tow, rescue, etc.
- Coordination with Manitoba Public Insurance
- Documentation of all details (Risk and Compliance Module in Truckmate software)
- Investigate claims and accidents and determine the best approach for resolution

**Other**:

- Other tasks assigned by Manager/Executive

**Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Qualifications**
- Solid knowledge and understanding of trucking rules and regulations
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent grammar, editing and proofing skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Investigative skills
- Intermediate PC skills - Windows, MS Office Suite, Internet
- Class 1 CDL considered an asset
