Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Safety & Compliance Officer to oversee and ensure adherence to regulatory standards for our organization within our industry. This role is vital in maintaining the integrity of our processes, promoting a culture of compliance, and supporting ongoing training, auditing and development initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of trucking and transportation facility environments and be committed to fostering continuous improvement through effective compliance practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor compliance policies and procedures aligned with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance requirements, fostering a culture of awareness, continuous improvement, safety and accountability.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of compliance activities, audit results, and corrective measures.
  • Stay informed about changes in regulations affecting transportation and trucking operations and update policies accordingly.
  • Assist in the development of training programs focused on compliance, safety protocols, and best practices.
  • Ensure the organizations Safe Work Certification remains in good standing.
  • Establish a telematics management system and driver report card.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a compliance role within a trucking industry setting or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation and Safety processes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements provincially, federally and abroad.
  • Excellent training & development skills with the ability to communicate complex information effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills for conducting audits and assessments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams to promote safe work & compliance initiatives.
  • Relevant certifications or training in compliance, safety management, or related fields are considered an asset. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to our operational and safety excellence while supporting ongoing professional growth through training initiatives.
  • Experience managing Telematics, trucking software, safety software and Safe work programs are preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $42,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
