**Position Summary**
**Responsibilities**
- Onboard new hires and offboard departing employees
- Maintain employee virtual files
- Assist with drafting offer letters
- Assist with monthly reports to benefit providers
- Assign legislative training to new hires using the HR Downloads platform
- Update the People & Culture SharePoint site
- Assist with the organization and facilitation of various social events (firm-wide dinners, fun days etc.)
- Ad-hoc reporting as requested
- General HR administration (including but not limited to: booking calendar invites, conducting reference checks, as well as spreadsheet management for recruitment tracking
- Participate as a member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee
- At the request of the VP, P&C and Senior Generalist, research employment law within the different provinces
- Work on firm-wide communication updates
- Work with marketing team to ensure company website is up to date with current employee information
- Assist in pre-screening resumes to ensure applicants meet minimum job requirements
- Keep up to date with employment law and the latest HR trends and best practices
- Other tasks, projects and duties as assigned
**Education and Experience**
- Bachelors degree
- Minimum of 2-3 years of previous HR and recruitment experience required
- CHRP or in the process of obtaining CHRP an asset
**Qualifications**
- Experienced with using an applicant resume tracking system and job boards
- Solid understanding of internal and external recruitment workflows in order to support the STAS and the overall recruitment process
- Excellent time management skills and capacity to take direction
- Ability to work and think independently
- Multitasks and works on multiple projects simultaneously
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
