Our office is an oasis, a state-of-the-art tropical greenhouse that hosts events year-round with a large portion of those events being weddings.
We are a company that truly values working cohesively together to produce exceptional, memorable events. To provide a manageable work environment year-round, we are restructuring the dynamics of our team and looking to expand.
The ideal addition would be enthusiastic, hardworking, and able to take direction. Because such a large portion of our events are weddings, we would want someone who prides themselves on being creative with a passion for details. The goal would be that once this individual understands the dynamics and day to day of Aquatopia, they would then be confident to lead a team of décor staff to create, manage, and produce an outstanding event.
**Position Summary**:Assistant Coordinator of Floral & Décor. The purpose of this position is to assist in all aspects of planning and executing weddings & events. This includes taking direction from the coordinator and other staff while also leading a team of décor staff.
Wage: $18 - $22/hour (wage dependent on experience)
Flexible Language Requirement: Fluent English, speaking & writing. French not required
Schedule: Day shift, Holidays, Monday to Friday, Weekend availability
Ability to commute to: 2710 March Rd. Carp, ON K0A 1L0
Be organized and have a good attention to detail.
Be a motivated, self-starter, able to work independently.
Have experience with wedding or event production.
Have their own laptop.
Comfortable with administrative skills.
Have a good sense of design and know what is trending in the wedding and events industries.
Be able to work on-site at Aquatopia.
Be able to work remotely on occasion.
Must have a reliable vehicle for transportation.
Must be available to work most weekends.
Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
Must be comfortable working on ladders and operating a vertical mast lift (training will be provided).
**Some of the tasks of this position include**:
Meeting with couples or event organizers to discuss their floral and décor needs.
Creating and editing floral and décor proposals based on the wants and needs of our couples or event organizers.
Organizing and delegating daily tasks for the décor team to best set up for events.
Lifting, moving and setting up tables, chairs, décor pieces and floral installations.
Working under pressure as we flip a ceremony room to a reception setup in 90 minutes.
Assembling arches, pergolas and other installation pieces.
Pulling and prepping decor for weddings and events.
Cleaning and putting away decor after events.
Keeping a clean and organized production space.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
