**REPORTS TO**: Sumas First Nation General Manager

**PURPOSE & SUMMARY**

The Sumas First Nation Healing Homes program provides community and culturally based mental health and addiction services to youth and families. Cultural practices are intentionally embedded within the treatments to provide the most comprehensive mental health services possible. Sumas First Nation is seeking a qualified individual to take on the role of Healing Homes Program Coordinator. The Healing Homes Program Coordinator will provide communications, collaboration and planning support for the Healing Homes Program. This role will support community engagement activities which will guide the development and implementation of Healing Home initiatives. In addition, The Healing Homes Program Coordinator will ensure that functions and resources are effectively integrated, organized and leveraged to meet the strategic and operational needs of the project along with other supportive activities.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Support the development of a community engagement strategy regarding the Healing Homes Program.
- Provide coordination support to plan and deliver engagement sessions.
- Assist community leads in identifying and prioritizing current and emerging trauma-specific therapies and traditional healing practices to inform the healing home development.
- Support development and drafting of the Healing Homes service delivery plan and associated budgets and workplans.
- Lead appropriate research initiatives and prepare briefing notes, reports, strategies, presentations, etc.
- Participate in the development of pathways and processes to facilitate access to Healing Homes programs.
- Develop and maintain lists of available Healing Homes programs, resources, and contacts.
- Attend required research and professional training on an as-needed basis.
- Other administrative duties as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1 years’ relevant experience in project coordination or management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1 years’ relevant, recent and significant experience in the provision of coordination support to First Nation communities or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Experience working with First Nations individuals, communities or organizations on issues related to health, wellness, and addictions.
- Good understanding of the impact of residential schools and intergenerational trauma.
- Experience supporting traditional ceremonies, cultural practices, and land based healing.
- A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
