**REPORTS TO**: Sumas First Nation General Manager

**PURPOSE & SUMMARY**

The Sumas First Nation Healing Homes program provides community and culturally based mental health and addiction services to youth and families. Cultural practices are intentionally embedded within the treatments to provide the most comprehensive services possible. Sumas First Nation is seeking a qualified individual to take on the role of Healing Homes Program Manager. This role is responsible for managing the development and implementation of an integrated healing program in alignment with regional feedback and direction for a continuum of healing sites and modalities.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Leads and oversees the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Healing Homes programs and initiatives under direction of Sumas First Nation Chief and Council.
- Develops healing home service delivery model, incorporating community perspectives and guidance from community leaders and knowledge keepers.
- Provides expertise in traditional wellness and trauma healing in the development of and implementation of new program initiatives and projects.
- Leads engagement with surrounding First Nations and other key stakeholders.
- Develops and supports the implementation of collaborative client health and wellness plans including Healing Homes services.
- Collaborates with the First Nations Health Authority and other partners to ensure timely, effective, and culturally safe care is provided to community grounded in traditional wellness practice.
- Maintaining good knowledge of program issues, operations, and the working environment.
- Participate and play an active role in traditional events, ceremonies, and land-based healing within Sumas First Nation.
- Performs related duties as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- A University degree in Public Health, Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Psychiatric Nursing or a closely related behavioral science field, or an acceptable combination of education, training, and professional experience.
- 3 to 5 years’ relevant, recent, and significant experience in program management with First Nation communities, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience working with BC First Nations/Indigenous people at a community level including experience around mental health, wellness, and addictions.
- Good understanding of the impact of residential schools and intergenerational trauma.
- Experience supporting traditional ceremonies and cultural practices.
- A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
