**Hospitality Supervisor**
**Location**: Nekinan Property, Smoky Lake, AB
**Position Status**:Full-time (40 hours/work) Permanent Position
**Key Responsibilities**
- Oversee Nekinan site grounds (Site#1 - 20 room housing, and Site#2 - 5 room flex space) on 1.6 acre land within the town of Smoky Lake.
- Serve as the primary guest liaison, managing inquiries, overseeing check-in and check-out processes, promptly addressing concerns with professionalism, and maintaining accurate records
- Foster a warm and welcoming environment to enhance guest satisfaction and encourage repeat visits.
- Collaborate with management and clients to plan and execute events that align with Nekinan’ s hospitality standards.
- Handle any complaints or issues with discretion and a focus on resolution.
- Coordinate event logistics, including scheduling, setup, catering, décor, and ensuring all necessary supplies, equipment, and staff are prepared for events.
- Supervise and support kitchen hostesses/cooks, ensuring high-quality, home-cooked meals are prepared on schedule.
- Provide backup coverage for kitchen hostesses and custodial staff as needed, ensuring continuity in meal service, cleanliness, and overall guest experience.
- Coordinate and oversee the work of custodial and janitorial staff to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Monitor inventory and coordinate the procurement of supplies for events, kitchen, and cleaning needs.
- Ensure the buildings’ exterior (landscaping, vegetation, etc.) and systems (electrical, mechanical, fire protection, etc.) are well-maintained, taking preventative measures to prolong asset life.
- Ensure contractors adhere to the Otipemisiwak Métis Government’s policies and procedures, manage their schedules, oversee the quality of work, and minimize disruptions to operations.
- Maintain records of work performed, including schedules, maintenance logs, asset lists, etc.
- Work with the Hospitality Manager to maintain and update policies and procedures and identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Collaborate with the Health & Safety Advisor to ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations across all areas of operations.
- Provide effective leadership, and mentor team members through feedback, coaching, and formal evaluations.
- Manage staffing responsibilities and perform supervisory duties including hiring and training staff, assigning job duties, and developing and overseeing staff work plans.
- Present a positive and professional image of the organization when interacting with employees, clients, visitors, and other external stakeholders.
- Other duties as required or assigned.

- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of Métis history, culture, and issues affecting Métis people. An in-depth understanding of the Otipemiswak Métis Government is an asset.
**Qualifications**
- Proven experience in hospitality management or a similar supervisory role.
- Minimum two years’ experience in a leadership role, leading a team of direct reports.
- Experience working in an Indigenous and/or non-profit setting is an asset.
**Other Requirements**
- Ability to work a flexible schedule of days, evenings, weekends, overnight stays, and holidays, as required. Ability and willingness to work on call to meet facility and service needs.
- Ability to travel throughout Alberta is a requirement.
- Reliable transportation and a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
