We are currently looking for an individual with a positive attitude and professional presence who is interested in a **Receptionist/Administrative Assistant** position at our Nanaimo, B.C. branch. We are seeking an individual to help fill in and provide coverage for an employee currently on leave. This position is temporary and part-time, consisting of 20 hours per week with the possibility of transitioning into a full-time permanent role. While you perform various administrative duties, we will depend on your pleasant demeanor and friendly smile to serve as the first point of contact for clients, vendors and other visitors at the office. This position offers a variety of administrative tasks that will help provide assistance to the Nanaimo team and various other groups within the branch. Our office hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.

The salary range for this position is $25 - $35 per hour. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.

**Some of the Responsibilities You May Have**:

- Delivering the first impression to all visitors to the office in a professional manner while notifying the appropriate staff members to facilitate timely meetings and appointments
- Formatting and proofreading reports, proposals, and correspondence to deliver exceptionally accurate documents that comply with corporate standards
- Creating and manipulating PDF documents using features of Adobe Acrobat or similar PDF software to assemble documents and insert links and bookmarks
- Facilitating file management for projects
- Maintaining the project archive and document library
- Assisting with travel arrangements
- Completing expenses and timecards for staff
- Maintaining good working relationships with other Administrators
- Daily cleaning and tidying of boardrooms and kitchens
- Maintaining supplies for photocopiers and office equipment
- Other duties as necessary
- Post-secondary certificate/diploma from a recognized office assistant or administrative assistant program preferred; applicants with a high school diploma with applicable administrative experience will also be considered
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, including spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills
- Ability to remain professional in all situations
- Excellent attention to detail
- Self-motivated, with strong time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and a strong work ethic
- Previous office experience is considered an asset
