Dave Watters Desjardins Insurance Agency is an established, independent contract agency in Waterloo, with over 14 years of providing insurance and financial services to customers across Waterloo, Kitchener, and surrounding area. We are an accountable team who work hard for each other and the clients we serve.
**The Role: Insurance Account Representative - Focus on Life Insurance**
You are a hard-working and assertive sales agent that holds yourself accountable. You will primarily sell and service life & health insurance (possibly some auto & property insurance too) to individuals and business owners. You have a natural curiosity about people and will maintain and build client relationships. Duties include finding new clients, servicing existing clients, resolving customer problems, guiding, and educating folks to make impactful personal choices with their insurance program. This guidance is a foundation of our niche.
**This is an in-office, permanent, full-time, 9am to 5pm position **for Dave Watters’ Insurance Agency located in Waterloo, Ontario.
**What you’ll do**:
- Listen, and provide assertive guidance.
- Sell Insurance policies.
- Source potential clients via networking, cold calling, using referrals and persuade them to engage in a phone conversation and/or meeting to discuss insurance products.
- Answer client questions regarding existing and/or new policies, billing, including information on rate fluctuations or policy changes to ensure full understanding.
- Assist customers with claims submission.
- Consult with clients and prospects to review policies and process quotes.
- Collect, record and process insurance payments (cash, cheques, credit).
**What you’ll bring**:
- 1 - 2 years of customer service or sales experience preferred.
- High level knowledge of customer service/sales processes and techniques.

- Ability to interact with potential and current clients and manage conflict or difficult situations.
- Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal and listening).

- Basic computer technology skills.
**Additional Conditions of Employment**
- Must have the ability to obtain Life License Qualification program (LLQP) prior to start date - this factor is not used at the pre-selection stage.
- The Other Than Life (OTL) license must be obtained within 1-month of hire.
- Must complete any required Desjardins training and background checks, including a police and credit bureau check.
