**Position Overview**:
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with college policies and regulations. This role requires strong bookkeeping skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments within the college.
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Maintain and record all financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in preparing payroll for faculty and staff, including hourly student workers.
- Manage tuition billing and collections, ensuring timely payments from students.
- Prepare financial statements and assist in budget preparation and analysis.
- Support the external audit process and provide necessary documentation.
- Respond to inquiries regarding financial matters from faculty, staff, and students.
- Perform other accounting-related duties and special projects as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role, preferably in an educational institution.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel,
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work effectively with a diverse community.
- An associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; relevant certification (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper) is a plus.
