We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Payroll Support Specialist. In this role, you will assist the Payroll Specialists with full-cycle payroll processing and support various aspects of the payroll cycle. This position offers an excellent opportunity for those looking to build their payroll experience and expand their knowledge in this field.
You will report directly to the Director of Payroll and work closely with our payroll team, based in Burnaby, BC. If you are eager to develop your payroll skills and contribute to a dynamic team, we encourage you to apply.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Support the US, Canada, and Mexico payroll processing
- Vacation coverage for the US, Canada, and Mexico payroll processing
- Payroll year-end duties, such as YTD reconciliations and yearend tax document preparation
- Support with onboarding all new hires in the US and Canada including validations
- Support employees and leaders with timecard inquiries
- Support Payroll Specialist with payroll inquires
- Prepare and submit AP requests for various payments relating to the processing of payroll
- Monthly reconcile employee taxable benefits for the payroll
- Support on payroll JE preparation
- Support the Payroll Specialists with year-end payroll reconciliations
- Provincial Workers Compensation accounts; reconciliation and payments
- Assist with ADHOC Payroll reporting
- Other duties in support of payroll functions and other tasks may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion or working towards Payroll Org Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or National Payroll Institute Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP)
- Minimum 2 years experience in payroll working with a computerized payroll system, Workday payroll preferred
- Diploma or degree in Finance, HR, or a related field
- Some experience with full-cycle payroll processing including year-end duties
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel
- Knowledge related to payroll preparation and related recordkeeping
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with key groups including internal and external stakeholders
- Strong communication skills written and verbal
- Ability to work under pressure and meet established datelines
- Attention to detail, excellent accuracy, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to deal with confidential information
- Accounting experience an asset
In accordance with pay transparency regulations, the anticipated starting salary for this position ranges from 60,000 to 70,000 CAD annually. Full-time employees are also eligible for performance-based bonuses and a range of benefits. Please note that this salary range is not guaranteed, and the final offer may vary based on experience, education, location, and shift. Additionally, the benefits and programs available may differ depending on the hire date, schedule type, and hours worked.
