Contract Payroll Administrator

JUST HR is recruiting for a contract (2-3 months) payroll administrator to assist the payroll team in a respected, industry‑leading organization with a strong brand presence and operations across the province. This contract position will help the team in all aspects of the payroll process and make a meaningful impact by modernizing systems, optimizing processes, and ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.

Responsibilities
- Assist with processing bi‑weekly or semi‑monthly payroll for Canadian employees
- Verify timesheets, hours, and employee information for accuracy
- Help update employee records, including new hires, terminations, and changes
- Support the team with payroll reports and reconciliations
- Respond to basic employee questions about pay, deductions, and payroll policies
- Ensure payroll practices follow Canadian legislation and company guidelines
- Provide general administrative support to help fill gaps within the payroll team
Requirements
- 5 years of progressive payroll experience
- Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll laws, tax regulations, and benefits administration
- Hands‑on experience with payroll systems, preferably ADP and automation projects
- Excellent problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills
- PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) or CPM (Certified Payroll Manager) designation is an asset
