**JOURNEYMAN PLUMBER**

Akamihk Energy is seeking a licensed, committed, and personable Journeyman Plumber to join our team. The journeyman plumber will be required to diagnose and remedy residential and commercial issues pertaining to water and plumbing systems, which might include drips, obstructions, and weather damage. you will perform preventative maintenance as well as installing systems according to blueprints or other technical documents.You may also oversee apprentice plumbers as they clear blockages and make minor repairs.

To ensure success as a Journeyman Plumber, you should exhibit impeccable troubleshooting and decision-making skills. Outstanding journeyman plumber will suggest services that may be of use to families who have incurred damages and delays as a result of plumbing issues.

**Responsibilities**:
¨ Perform preventative maintenance

¨ Document issues and repairs

¨ Informing Supervisor of all estimated costs before commencing work.

¨ Locating leaks, tears, blockages, corrosion, and weather damage in water features.

¨ Fixing issues in water and plumbing systems by repairing or replacing these structures, or aspects thereof.

¨ Install and repair plumbing and drainage systems.

¨ Install or replace fixtures.

¨ Ensuring that structures are in excellent working condition upon completion of each project.

¨ Consulting with clients to identify and address any other concerns related to their plumbing issues

¨ Advising clients on appropriate care for their water systems.

¨ Oversee apprentices on-site

¨ Observing pertinent health and safety regulations.

**Requirements**:
¨ High school diploma or GED certificate

¨ Successful Completion of technical training through a trade school or apprenticeship

¨ Licensed to practice as a Journeyman Plumber.

¨ Familiarity with all relevant techniques and tools needed to perform your duties.

¨ Excellent organizational and time management skills.

¨ Exceptional physical fitness and hand-eye coordination.

¨ Capacity to operate independently.

¨ Outstanding customer service skills.

¨ Willingness to avail yourself beyond normal working hours.

¨ Experienced in both commercial & residential plumbing.

¨ Valid driver’s license

¨ Blueprint reading skills

¨ Experience in working with First Nation communities - an asset
