**POSITION OVERVIEW**
The Chef De Partie (CDP) is primarily responsible for overseeing the preparation, assembly and cooking of food items for a specific kitchen station including preparation of quality pastry delicacies and baked pastry goods. The Chef De Partie assists in the Pastry kitchen and in the restaurant kitchens as required, and assists with menu planning, inventory, and ordering for a particular station. The CDP promotes the restaurants and acts as a positive role model and representative of Blau & Associates. The CDP assists with event catering including the setup and display of food menu items. The CDP continually strives for 100% guest satisfaction.
**This position requires **availability** to work early morning & night shifts.**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Works in collaboration with other Team Members and Departments to ensure the kitchen and outlets operate in accordance with established operational procedures
- Prepare and cook food items or specialty foods in collaboration with team members
- Liaises with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to ensure a high level of effective communication is maintained and participates in culinary initiatives
- Ensure consistent and the highest calibration of food presentation
- Prepare and garnish food orders as they are received in accordance with recipes and proper plate presentation
- Proper set-up, maintenance and adherence to scheduled duties, ensuring mise-en-place and par stock is maintained for all position related items, conducting regular inventory and ordering products as required
- Ensuring food preparation is completed for a specific kitchen station and assembling or cooking items as required
- Following established sanitation standards, maintaining a clean work station and assisting with cleaning of the overall kitchen and service areas
- Maintaining a composed and professional demeanor while providing exemplary service
- Being aware of menu items, menu and operational changes and communicating the information as appropriate
- Protecting the organization, guests and co-workers by adhering to applicable food, liquor safety and workplace standards, operational requirements and statutory compliance regulations
- Any other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or their designated representative

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Have 2+ experience in a similar role and environment such as a hotel, restaurant, catering or other fast paced high-volume establishment
- A valid FOODSAFE certificate is considered an asset
- Has a good command of both spoken and written English. Knowledge of a 2nd language would be considered an asset
- Has a solid understanding of different cuisines and food preparation methods
- Has solid problem solving, decision making, customer service and communication skills
- Experience managing inventory and proper product use to eliminate waste and spillage
- Be able to stand for extended periods of time, reach, bend and stoop repeatedly
- Be able to frequently lift and carry up to Is able to frequently lift and carry up to 24 kg/50 lbs
