NATURE OF THE WORK
- The principal and customary role of the employee in this employment class consists in performing technical work in prevention and individual or collective assistance for students with personal difficulties.
- RESPONSIBILITIES- Work in collaboration with the professional responsible for the First-Year Office;
- Meet students individually or in groups to provide information about different policies, their rights and responsibilities;
- Refer students to counsellors or other professionals depending on their needs;
- Work on preventing and raising awareness of various student-related personal and social problems;
- Respond and provide support to students that are in crisis. Detect and help students who are experiencing problematic situations;
- Refer students to the appropriate services in the College;
- Assist in organizing information campaigns related to the Code of Conduct, the Sexual Violence Policy and any other relevant policies;
- Synthesize and record data of problems submitted in order to make an evaluation and suggest solutions;
- Participate in the development of socio-educational activity programs within a school integration and retention perspective;
- Use facilitation techniques to assist groups in organizing themselves and implementing activities aimed at developing significant relationships;
- Frequent student spaces and participate in various activities to interact with students on a regular basis and promote the Centre;
- Sensitize the college community to students’ social problems;
- Liaise with teachers and different services in the College.
- Perform other related tasks.

**Requirements**:

- QUALIFICATIONS
- To have a diploma of college studies (DEC) in Social Services, Social Work Technology or a related field, a diploma or an attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.
- CONDITIONS- Ability to work with the public;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Advanced oral and written English language skills (testing may be required);
- Intermediate oral and written French language skills (testing may be required);
- Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills (testing may be required);
- Ability to maintain department standards with respect to the confidentiality of information.
