**Summary**:
The AP Specialist is a vital member of the RSR accounting team, responsible for supporting a busy accounts payable office. Accounts Payable Specialist reviews, reconciles, and pays Richmond Steel’s bills in a timely fashion.
**In this role, the incumbent**:

- Processes PO & non-PO invoices for payment to vendors and employees.
- Perform weekly check runs.
- Completes payments and control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, coding and reconciling invoices.
- Reconciles processed payments by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
- Charges expenses to accounts and cost centres by analysing invoice/expense reports and recording entries.
- Pays vendors by following terms of payment, discount opportunities, scheduling and preparing checks, and resolving purchase orders, contracts, invoices, or payment discrepancies and documentation.
- Ensures credit is received for outstanding memos.
- Issue stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
- Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances.
- Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
- Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
- Maintains records by filing documents.
- Coordinates with other staff members and resolve vendor grievances.
- Reports sales tax by calculating requirements on paid invoices.
- Keeps company information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

- Must have a vehicle to get to work (Mitchell Island isn’t transit accessible)
