Please note that this is an on-site position, with some local travel across the Lower Mainland.
As a Specialist-Health and Safety you will
- Identify, monitor, evaluate and track all OHS activities through audits and other record keeping methods.
- Execute appropriate training to reduce hazards and the potential for accidents in the workplace.
- Lead the full investigation on major accidents and incidents.
- Lead the continuous improvement process to ensure OHS compliance.
- Utilize technical knowledge to identify and address workplace risks and hazards.
- Work with the Senior Manager to ensure that training programs are complaint to the provincial OHS regulations
- Provide OHS knowledge, expertise and guidance to employees and key stakeholders.
- Be the key company representative with Labour and Health authorities for all OHS related activities.
- Lead all activities related to the organization’s participation in provincial certification/rebate programs e.g., BC COR, ON HSEP
- Provide occasional support to Retail Stores in the B.C. lower mainland region.

The experience we need
- 3+ years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety, Human Resources or a related role. (Retail and/or Warehousing experience is an asset)
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field (Occupational Health & Safety, Human Resources, General sciences) is preferred

Annualized base pay range
$65,000.00 - $68,000.00
Starting pay offered will consider skills and experience. Your pay can grow as you build your career with us.
