The Estimator will assist with the tendering process and job bids. This person will be able to effectively manage job bids, sales requests, tenders and other assignments from the Senior Estimator/Owner.

Work has office based setting with some time spent on construction sites and meeting with project stakeholders. Involvement with operations manager is required to ensure accurate and up to date information to seamlessly execute projects.

**Duties**

Assist with preparation of estimates and the costs of materials, labour and equipment for projects base on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specifications.

You will be responsible to lead pursuits and review project estimates with management, preparing and maintaining bid packages and tender documents.

Prepare accurate take-offs and estimate pre-contract costs

Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.

Assist in measuring of prospective jobs.

Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost elements.

**Requirements**:
**Minimum of 2 years of experience** in an estimating role in the steel or fabrication industry.

Blueprint reading/comprehension skills (architectural and structural drawings) and a solid understanding of ‘construction scopes’.

Experience with software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) preferred.

Computer proficient including typing skills.

Excellent analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Superior written and verbal communication skills are required.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships, ability to use positive language, listen, and understand customers’ needs. Maintain good communication with the customer, following up as needed and keeping an even demeanor towards the customer.

Must possess attention to detail and flexibility on approach.

Must be knowledgeable in the construction process including estimating, bidding, purchasing, subcontractor negotiations and design/construction technology.

Pay will be based on experience (starting annual salary is $70,000.00)
