**Job Title**: Estimator in Commercial Construction
**Responsibilities**:
- Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
- Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to understand project requirements and develop accurate cost estimates.
- Review project plans and specifications to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness of pricing.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of cost estimates, subcontractor and supplier quotes, and other project-related documents.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery of materials and services.
- Provide guidance to project managers and other team members on cost estimating and budgeting throughout the construction process.
- Attend project meetings and assist with negotiating contracts and managing budgets.
- Prepare and submit bid proposals to clients and participate in bid meetings as needed.
- Conduct regular cost analysis and forecasting to ensure project budgets remain on track.
- Continuously monitor industry trends and advancements in construction materials and methods to inform cost estimating processes and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience as an estimator in commercial construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and specifications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in construction cost estimating software and tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
