Your new company Hays has partnered with the leading contractor for ship repair and build in Ontario. They specialize in heavy industrial fabrication services and project support. The current opening is for an Estimator, reporting to the Director of Tendering. The Estimator will support the preparation of cost estimates, proposals, and tender submission for shipyard projects. They will work closely with the estimating team, project managers, and engineers to develop cost breakdowns, compile data, and ensure timely and accurate bid submissions. They will collect and verify information from supplies and subtrades in collaboration with procurement. The Estimator will stay informed on RFP/RFQ requirements, industry practices and client's stands to improve submission quality. The successful Estimator candidate will have a degree or diploma in engineering, business or a related field and have at least 2 years of estimation experience. The Estimator will have experience in RFP submission and be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Finally, any experience in ship repair, construction or related technical estimation would be considered an asset. In return, you will earn a competitive salary, RRSP match after one year, full comprehensive benefits and paid vacation of 3 weeks.
