Through a new, innovative partnership with Nova Scotia Health (NSH), we are opening the first transitional care center in our province, in West Bedford. Shannex is the operating partner for the transitional care centre on behalf of Nova Scotia Health. you will have an opportunity to work in a facility with a purpose and design dedicated to providing care to NSH patients in central zone, who no longer require hospital care, but need services before they can safely return home/community.

We are searching for a **Manager, Privacy and Health Information Services** to join our **Transitional Care Centre **located in West Bedford, Nova Scotia.

The transitional care model supports NSH patients/families who require additional time, services, and support to transition back to home/community, by providing an alternate space with intentional programming, building design, and resource allocation to increase the probability of returning to their previous living situation.

The **Manager, Privacy and Health Information Services** is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of privacy, health information management, analytics and reporting policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks within Shannex Transitional Health. This role ensures that all health information is managed and protected in accordance with privacy legislation, including PHIPA and PIPEDA, and service agreements. Working closely with Operations, Technology and Innovation, Clinical Services and Legal Counsel, the Manager will lead efforts to safeguard patient data, promote best practices in privacy, health information management, analytics and reporting and work to ensure these areas are seamlessly integrated into Transitional Health.

**About the opportunity**
- Working closely with Technology and Innovation and Clinical Services teams to ensure health information systems function in compliance with medical, legal and contractual requirements for Transitional Health.
- Lead the development of change management strategies for the rollout of new privacy policies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Establishes data quality and auditing procedures for this service line.
- Working closely with the Analytics and Innovation, Clinical Services and Operations to establish reporting structures and processes to meet internal and external reporting requirements.
- Design and implement a privacy office framework, including organizational structure, roles, and responsibilities to ensure effective privacy governance.
- Create policies, procedures, and standards for privacy management, with a focus on unique requirements of Transitional Health.
- Lead the efforts within Transitional Health to ensure compliance with privacy regulations and internal standards.
- Serve as the Privacy Officer for Transitional Health, overseeing all privacy-related matters, including incident management and regulatory reporting.
- Perform privacy impact assessments, audits, and create action plans to address identified vulnerabilities.
- Ensure staff, patients, and families are educated and trained on privacy rights, information protection practices, and the organization’s privacy policies.

**About you**
- You will have a Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Privacy Law, Health Administration, Health Sciences, or a related field.
