**Summary**

The role involves extensive interaction with chemists and human health and environmental experts, as well as to support the growth and expansion of Yordas Scientific services on Global Notification, Biocides and Food and Health Care products.

**Role and Responsibilities**
- Perform chemical and environmental fate assessments of substances and products under Global Notification, Biocides, Cosmetics and Food Contact Regulations and provide strategic scientific advice to clients on global regulatory environmental fate/environmental exposure issues
- Design physico-chemical and environmental fate studies to meet known or anticipated regulatory requirements.
- Commission and monitor physico-chemical and environmental chemistry fate studies with Contract Research Organisations (CROs) to deliver environmental fate study projects across Europe to a high standard, meeting business/external requirements for both delivery timelines and technical quality.
- Summarise and critically review endpoint study outputs, and where necessary analyse/interpret data.
- Review and interpret regulatory requirements on phisico-chemical and environmental fate endpoints in regulatory guidance documents and regulations.
- Attend multi-disciplinary project meetings and communicate and receive feedback to/from technical peers and other parts of the business.
- Communicate and cooperate with external regulatory agencies and clients
- Ensuring that projects are delivered to high standards, on time and within agreed budget

**Profile and Qualifications**

**Essential**
- Must have a M.Sc. or Ph.D. in environmental science, chemistry, biology, water science or a closely related field together with experience of working in a regulatory environment. Strong background in chemistry is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of environmental fate exposure models
- Working knowledge of EU REACH, Biocidal product Regulations, Cosmetic Regulations, Medical devices or Food Contact regulations.
- Strongly motivated, self-starter with excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a global team

**Desirable**
- Knowledge of IUCLID
- Strong written and verbal communication skills that allow dissemination of complex technical issues in a clear, concise manner to a variety of scientific and non-scientific audiences.
- Preparation of submissions to fulfil regulatory requirements, and interaction with regulators to gain their acceptance.
- Experience of working according to GLP (Good Laboratory Practice).
- Project management skills, including; task planning, programme management and budget tracking.
