The Operations Research Analyst will develop optimization and simulation models for operations, supply chain and logistics problems relating to the circular economy. You will leverage different techniques, such as linear programming, mixed integer programming, Monte Carlo and discrete event simulation, empirical analysis, and other related techniques to build and solve mathematical and computer models to inform business decisions concerning circular, closed-loop, or waste-reduction operations. The position is for six months (with possible extension to one year) and is fully remote. Recent masters or PhD graduates are preferred.
**Primary Duties**
- Develop mathematical and computer models to optimize and simulate a variety of operations management problems relating to the circular economy.
- Define problems in the context of closed-loop supply chains and waste-reduction operations, gather the appropriate data, and develop the models toward providing practical guidance for decision makers.
- Work closely with the Director of Operations Research to strengthen the company’s position in optimizing circular operations.
**Qualifications and Experience**
- A minimum of master’s degree in operations research, industrial engineering, mathematics, computer science or other related quantitative fields
- Knowledge of mathematical programming, and analysis of algorithms and computational complexity
- Knowledge and experience with optimization and simulation models such as mixed integer programming, network optimization, and discrete optimization
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, MATLAB and R

**Salary**: $60,308.00-$65,298.00 per year
