As a Materials Technology Field and Laboratory Technician you will carry out geotechnical and construction material site inspection and laboratory testing services for various construction projects within various Ontario areas.

**The site work will include**:

- concrete and compacting testing,
- soil and aggregate sampling,
- paving inspection services for various pavement projects, and
- depending on prior experience and knowledge, review services may extend to other areas such as reinforcing steel, founding soil, roofing and building envelope.

**The laboratory work will include**:

- Testing of soil, aggregate, and concrete samples (building materials) to determine engineering properties. This will include standard proctor testing, grain size analysis, determination of moisture content, compressive strength testing of concrete cylinders.
- Depending on prior experience and knowledge, you may provide support to higher complexity soil, aggregate and concrete lab departments.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- Enrolled in a civil, geotechnical, or other engineering college or university programs.
- **Needs access to vehicles and valid drivers license to carry out Site inspections.**
