**SUMMARY**:
Provides payroll and Human Resources (HR) support to the Payroll Manager (in the absence of one, the VP Finance & CFO), and the employees of BRR Logistics Limited (BRR). This includes supporting payroll and benefits processes, HR system maintenance, onboarding, policies and procedures, recruitment, training, reporting, and other duties as assigned. Other duties could include supporting Accounts Receivable and Finance administrative tasks.

BRR has approximately 100 employees in multiple departments, locations and classifications including salary and hourly employees; union and non-union.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

**HR and Payroll**
- Submitting the biweekly payroll file to ADP and performing a detailed review of the payroll preview
- Maintaining the HR system (ADP WorkforceNow) including adding new employees, assigning them to schedules, updating rates of pay, changes of address, calculating their vacation, terminations, records of employment, etc.
- Calculating and submitting Union Dues, seniority reporting, probation hours, anniversary dates and support any other reporting for the Union
- Calculating and preparing the monthly submission for the pension
- Providing employees with benefits and pension paperwork and walk them through filling that out, filing that with the broker/provider
- Coordinating terminations: drafting letter, cancelling benefits, cancelling information technology, etc.
- Follow up on system glitches
- Setting up job postings in ADP and depending on the position review resumes, and set up interviews
- Support operations with workplace injury claims and reporting
- Assist the Payroll Manager with year-end balancing and reporting
- Adhere to audit controls and payroll governance
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality relative to personal data, compensation data and employee benefits information
- Working with the Payroll Manager to implement, reinforce, and modify HR policies and procedures keeping in mind the relevant legislation and best practices
- Working with Operations to implement, update, reinforce operational policies such as health and safety and respectful workplace

**Other Duties**
- Provide accounts receivable support if time permits
- Performs general clerical duties including but not limited to filing, photocopying, and mailing
- Orders and maintains office supplies and inventory and maintains office technology
- Analyzes and maximizes office productivity
- Assists with special projects as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Payroll Clerk or Accounting Clerk
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in either Human Resources or Accounting is an asset
- Previous work with ADP or an HRIS/Payroll System is an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Continually required to talk or hear
- Utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard
- The noise level in the work environment usually is quiet
- Occasional work outside of regular work hours may be required to support the HR programs of BRR’s several shifts and time zones
