**OVERVIEW**: Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Payroll Coordinator will work with the finance team, management, and employees to ensure all payroll and processing is completed with high degrees of accuracy, issues are resolved quickly within the guidelines of the policy and legislation requirements. The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for supporting the finance team with all day-to-day tasks related to the full cycle payroll process and all payroll functions.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Complete all aspects of the full cycle payroll process and all payroll function including data entry.
- Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
- Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department transfers.
- Maintain and file pertinent employment documentation in employee files.
- Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll.
- Submission of pension contributions.
- Assist team members by performing other duties within the finance department.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Completion of Payroll Compliance Practitioner Designation would be considered an asset.
- Previous work experience and strong knowledge of payroll is required.
- Experience using Payworks, SAGE 300 accounting software would be considered an asset.
- Strong proficiency in MS Outlook, Word and Excel is considered a strong asset.
- Working knowledge of basic accounting practices is a requirement.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- Must provide a current satisfactory Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector), Child and Adult Abuse Registry and Prior Contact Checks as a condition of employment.
