**Summary**

Cygnus is pleased to offer a challenging and rewarding career opportunity for an experienced **Systems Administrator** to join our team at our Markham office. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our company's IT infrastructure and working with our project teams and customers to advise on IT matters and deliver our systems integration projects. You will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our systems, including servers, networks, and user devices, while ensuring their security and reliability. You will also be responsible for the design, configuration, delivery and support of the IT aspects of our systems integration projects.

**The Position**

The Systems Administrator's responsibilities will include:

- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.) and related software, both on-premise and in the Cloud.
- Manage and monitor Cygnus network devices, including firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues as they arise, providing technical support to users.
- Implement and maintain security measures, such as access controls, backups, and firewalls.
- Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of new IT projects.
- Participate in the design, implementation, and support of the IT aspects of Cygnus’ systems integration projects
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and procedures.

You have a keen interest in IT technology, networks, and security and demonstrated success in system administration, collaboration with team members and clients, personal organization, and working with mínimal supervision. You take pride in your work, do things right, deliver results, and add value.

Specific requirements include:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role (minimum of 5 years).
- Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and security best practices.
- Experience with Windows Server, Linux/Unix, and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
