Systems Administrator

**Location**: Multimatic IT, Markham, Ontario, Canada

**OVERVIEW**:
Multimatic is a privately held, global enterprise supplying engineered components, systems and services to the automotive industry. The company’s core competencies include the development and manufacture of complex mechanisms and body hardware, suspension systems and body structural components as well as the design, engineering and development of light weight composite automotive systems.

The Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting the Corporate IT server and storage infrastructure, as well as acting as an escalation resource for all Technical Solutions support staff across the globe, in an efficient and accurate manner.

**WHAT WILL YOU DO**:

- Research, implement and manage Office 365 and Azure technologies.
- Provide 2nd / 3rd level VMware & Microsoft Server backend infrastructure support to globally located technical teams.
- Develop, design and implement VMware server infrastructures at a global level.
- Evaluation and recommendation of new technical products/services.
- Assess enterprise server security risks and contingency planning.
- Monitor server hardware inventory ensuring life cycle refreshes.
- Work with third party vendors & resellers for hardware and software procurement.
- Work with yearly IT budgets.
- Monitor global server infrastructures to ensure availability and perform necessary maintenance to maintain 24/7 availability.
- Understands IT industry trends, business trends, IT best practices, standards, and resources to ensure continuous optimization of IT service delivery.
- Lead and or support outage investigations and response activities.
- Leads and participates in project information gathering, requirements and analysis.
- Help facilitate POC activates from start to final rollout.
- Rotational “On Call” after hours and emergency support.
- Involvement and/or manage technical projects as assigned by the Manager of IT Infrastructure.

**WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED**:

- Bachelors in Computer Science or MCSE or equivalent education/experience.
- 5 years’ experience with Office 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, Sharepoint) both in deployment and administration
- Microsoft 365 intermediate level administrator certification is an advantage
- 5 years’ experience with Azure in new deployments and administration
- Azure intermediate level administrator certification is an asset
- 5 years’ experience within a VMWare virtual server environment.
- 5 years’ experience with Windows W7/W10 and with Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016/2019.
- 5 years’ experience with Exchange 2003/2010/2013/2016/O365.
- 5 years’ experience with Microsoft Outlook 2003/2010/2013/2016/365.
- 5 years’ experience with Microsoft Office 2013/2016/365.
- 5 years’ experience with Active Directory administration.
- 5 years’ experience with WSUS/SCCM/Patch Management.
- 5 years’ experience with Backup Technology - Netbackup / Backup Exec / Veeam.
- 5 years’ experience with Monitoring Tools - Solarwinds / vRealize.
- Working knowledge of WAN/LAN/Wi-Fi Technology.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft technologies and protocols.
- Working knowledge of Remote Collaboration tools - Zoom / MS Teams.
- Working knowledge of Windows scripting / batch language / logging / auditing.
- PC & Server hardware troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent English communications skills - both written and verbal.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Ability to work alone or within a team.
- MCSE or equivalent education/experience.
- Strong customer support experience.
- Global travel (Canada, US, Europe, Mexico, China, Australia) if/when required.
- Microsoft SQL / MySQL Server experience a plus.
- Linux experience a plus.

**WORKING ENVIRONMENT**:
Office environment; 15% travel required to local Multimatic office/production locations.
