**Role**: Manager, Internal Communications
**Status**: Permanent, Full Time
**Reports to**: Director, Internal Communications
**Location**: Markham
**Summary**:
This individual will be a true collaborator with exceptional interpersonal, communication and writing skills, project management experience and solid experience running events. This seasoned manager will have a strong understanding of organizational dynamics and have experience working directly with the c-suite executive team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Contribute to the planning and development of communication strategies and tactics that effectively embed the company’s strategic objectives and advance our Vision 2027
- Manage our internal communication channel strategy ensuring optimal reach and engagement. Keep abreast of new tools and technologies that promote best practice and ensure an optimal flow of internal communications.
- Lead and oversee the maintenance, and evolution of our Intranet Platform (SharePoint Online), including internal campaigns, story mining, content creation, editing and posting.
- Create, develop, and edit engaging content that informs and inspires employees, including but not limited to the monthly newsletter, videos, scripts, and surveys. Support various business units to deliver high-quality communications materials.
- Lead planning of company-wide employee recognition events and initiatives, including the annual Living Our Values Awards and Years of Service Celebrations. Play a key role in supporting the annual Kickoff Meeting, quarterly Town Halls, mid-year All-Hands and annual Leadership Conference
- Lead and oversee our Community Outreach Program at the national and local levels, building and managing employee volunteerism, sponsorship and donations efforts.
- In conjunction with Marketing, regularly contribute to the shared social media editorial calendar using sound judgment to identify and prepare internal news for external visibility.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and tactics for continuous improvement.
- Key member of the volunteer Employee Committee
- Special assignments as required

**Qualifications**:

- College / University degree or diploma in Communications, English or Journalism or related discipline with 6 to 8 years of experience in communications with 3+ years at the manager level
- Very strong writing, editing and presentation skills; ability to write for a variety of audiences across multiple communication channels
- Detail-oriented and highly-organized; excellent project management and time management skills
- Event management experience Able to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working in a deadline-sensitive environment
- SharePoint, Poppulo and Digital Channels Experience
- Experience managing third-party vendors
- Social media content creation experience (LinkedIn)
