**Manager of Business Development - Full Time, Permanent - Dartmouth, NS**

St. John Ambulance NS/PEI, a charitable organization, a leader in first aid training and volunteering, is seeking a **Manager of Business Development** to support it's growing client base in Nova Scotia and PEI.

St. John Ambulance is an international humanitarian organization and is a foundation of the Order of St. John. As Canada's standard for excellence in first aid, CPR and mental Health services, St. John Ambulance offers innovative programs, ensuring Canadians receive the best quality training. Revenue generated from first aid/CPR training supports St. John Ambulance's charitable work in Canada and around the world.

**Position Overview**
The Manager of Business Development supports the council by maintaining our relationship and connection with our current clients, developing new and significant relationships with those we've not yet served and acting as a brand ambassador and champion to all they meet.

A combination of hunter-gatherer, nurturer and explorer, the Manager of Business Development will represent the Council in both public forums (trade shows, networking opportunities) and in business-to-business relationships, ensuring that our value proposition is properly articulated and our community outreach programs have the showcase that they need.

**Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to)**:

- Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Manager of Business Development will connect with our current client base, ensuring that their needs are met in a proactive and timely manner.
- Utilize historic and market data to determine target markets and demographics; developing a detailed plan of action to connect with our future clients.
- Ensure our CRM database is properly populated with up-to-date client information.
- Track both pipeline and specific leads in our CRM and dashboards.
- Represent the Council and St. John Ambulance in a positive manner, at all times.
- Act as brand ambassador in public forums.
- Seek out and respond to all RFP, RFQ and other public leads.
- Assist in the preparation of marketing materials and collateral required to support the position
- Assist and support Inside Sales Representative, as needed
- Travel within NS and PEI (when required)

**Job Requirements**
- University degree or college diploma
- Three years experience in a similar role
- Proven and demonstratable track record of ensuring customer retention and sales
- The ability to develop strong relationships
- Well organized with a high say-do ratio
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills
- Holds valid driver's license
- Clean drivers abstract
- Clean criminal records check
- Travel throughout NS/PEI as required
- Occasional evenings and weekends as required

**Other Assets include**:

- Management experience in a similar role
- Knowledgeable about social media and SEO
- Experience in media relations and public speaking
