Document Management Clerk

The Document Management Clerk is responsible to process data from incoming documents to the claim and employer account records on the electronic file.
**Job Duties**:
Opens, sorts, and directs mail and faxes. Phone calls are made to clarify or have unreadable or incomplete faxes resent from external customers (claimants, employers, medical professionals, legal services, etc). Documents with Claim numbers are scanned into Emerge, utilizing the Kofax System. Documents are scanned, indexed, verified to confirm correct claimant, date of accident and injury. The documents are then directed to the appropriate department or individual for review and processing.
Pick up and delivery of physical claim and employer files on scheduled daily basis.
Utilizing the ESIS System, mail and faxes for the employers are placed on the firm files and directed to the appropriate department for processing.
Performs physical maintenance of claim and employer account files including organizing and purging information using established retention guidelines.
Liaises with off-site facility for storage and retrieval of claim and employer files and/or scanned claim documentation.
Prepares and stores miscellaneous claim media in Corporate Records. This documentation includes DVD’s and CD’s of MRI, CT Scans, X-rays, and photos of bodily injury sites.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
Completion of Grade 12
Minimum 4 months of related work experience in a customer service environment
7,000 numeric keystrokes per hour (less than 5% error rate)
Ability to use a personal computer in a Windows environment, and software programs including MS Word and Excel
Keyboarding proficiency required to accurately enter and query data
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to organize workload to meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
General knowledge of scanning and indexing technology, would be an asset
