**Job Summary**: As a key member of the senior management team this role is responsible for the efficient coordination and communication of information and instructions between the Sales, Supply Chain and Production organizations in order to facilitate the delivery of customer orders.
This role will liase and collaborate closely with the other members of the senior management team to ensure continuous alignment of priorities and issue resolution, including the supply chain team regarding production planning and demand forecasting. The ability to think strategically, while at times also being able to work side by side with the team to provide guidance and direction, will be critical.
** Primary Responsibilities**:

- Ensures that the master production schedule is created, maintained and distributed to optimize production to meet delivery schedules and forecasted customer demand
- Manages the manufacturing planning and shop floor tracking functions and tools to support a 7x24 production environment, across all related facilities
- Oversee the timely and accurate completion and communication of job status, systems updates and data analysis to review and evaluate production progress, work in process, and raw material inventory and finished goods demand
- Ensures that internal customers have all available and current status information
- Directly supervises the work and priorities of the Business Solutions team and all associated work tasks and areas of responsibility in the most efficient manner possible
- Serves as the focal point for Customer Service and Sales regarding production status and planning activities relating to production and associated supply chain
- Provide strategic input to maintain capacity vs load forecast and priority dispatch of orders
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, production management and Sales to avoid and/or mitigate material shortages through the effective scheduling of production resources
- Develop, maintain and enhance local production statistics and measurements and provide detailed reporting and analysis as required by Sales and Senior Management

**Secondary Responsibilities**:

- Continually assess and develop the team and practices to provide an efficient, customer oriented communication and information hub for production planning and forecasting
- Proactively develop and maintain knowledge, skills and expertise to achieve positive results
- Demonstrates intellectual curiosity about the current environment and challenges the status quo with a bias towards action and continuous improvement
- Project lead and execution of initiatives relating to scheduling and/or production planning as it relates to the scope of Business Solutions
- This position is expected to be able to effectively chair and coordinate multi-disciplinary meetings on a regular basis, and at different levels of the organization from front line supervisory to executive level
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications, Experience and Educational Requirements**: Work Experience:

- Minimum 5 years management / supervisory experience in a production / production planning manufacturing environment
- Proven experience and exposure to production/manufacturing environment

Skills and Competencies:

- Working knowledge of the following areas:

- Production scheduling and planning concepts
- Operations management concepts and methodoly
- Project Management skills
- Supply Chain management
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
- Strong computer skills/ use of Microsoft Office products and learning capability (knowledge of advanced spreadsheets is an asset)
- Strong working knowledge of ERP (SAP an asset) and MES systems within a maufacturing environment
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations
- Demonstrates a high level of accountability and ownership

**Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree / Post Secondary Diploma in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field

- APICS certification
- CPIM - Certified Planning and Inventory Management
- SAP Certified Application Associate - Production Planning and Manufacturing
- CPE - Certified Planning Engineer
