**Opportunity**

**Accounts Payable Clerk**:Reporting to the Controller, Finance, the Accounts Payable Clerk position is responsible for the timely and accurate payment of expenses of the Ontario SPCA Provincial Office and Animal Centres.You have an incredible attention to detail and proven analytical skills.

**Status**: Full-time - Permanent

**Location**: This role is based out of Provincial Office in Stouffville, ON with eligibility to participate in our flexible work program.

**This position will be required to work on-site approximately 3-4 days per week.**

**A Typical Day**
- Responsible for Provincial Office accounts payable function, which includes the vendor payments for Branches and Regional Investigations, expense reports and petty cash reimbursements.
- Prepare invoices for approval
- Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures
- Co-ordinate regular cheque runs to ensure timely payments of invoices
- Maintain purchase orders records and match with Invoices prior to payment
- Maintain and record pre-authorized payments
- Arrange for US bank drafts, stop payments. EFT payments, wire transfers etc.
- Prepare JV for AP coding adjustments and month end accruals
- Monthly reconciliation of AP/GL Account
- Maintain updated vendor files
- Reconciliation of vendor statements for missing invoices and resolution of aged items
- Maintain the petty cash for the Finance Department
- Compile schedules and working papers for the year end audit
- Provide support in the preparation of the annual budget
- Other duties as assigned

**Do You Have What it Takes?**
- Minimum 3 - 5 years in similar accounting position
- Strong proficiency in Accounts Payable including month-end activities
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics - Navision, Excel & Word
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to complete multiple tasks with a high volume of work often with tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Detail and process oriented with demonstrated analytical skills
- Ability and flexibility to work in a team environment
