**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Manager, Capital Finance & Treasury the Budget Analyst provides cash management assistance and analysis and assists the Manager with the preparation and maintenance of the capital budget. Primary working relationships are with the VIHA financial institutions, the contracted investment manager and finance staff across the region.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to completion of fourth level CGA, CMA or CA accounting courses leading to a professional accounting designation, and a minimum of 3 years' related experience including experience in healthcare program, written reports and presentations, and customer-focused services.
**Skills And Abilities**:
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Knowledge of computerized accounting systems and procedures.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis.
- Excellent oral/written and presentation skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with customers.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to function effectively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated judgment, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines and work independently.
- Use of a personal vehicle to facilitate travel within a multi-site organization.
