Business Development Representative

Expertec is a leading turnkey provider of van and truck outfitting in Western Canada, headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta. We design and install custom equipment and accessories for industrial and commercial service vehicles including aluminum slide-in service bodies, Spacekaps, van shelving, flat decks, mobile lube skids, top quality truck caps and canopies.
The Business Development Representative will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, expanding relationships with target industries, commercial vehicle dealers, and fleet management companies. This role will primarily involve spending time on the road meeting clients, building networks, and creating sales opportunities. Success in this role requires a proactive, self-motivated individual with a passion for growing business and delivering exceptional customer service.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- **Generate Qualified Leads and Sales Opportunities**: Proactively identify, engage, and nurture potential customers to generate a pipeline of qualified leads and sales opportunities. Leverage a combination of face-to-face meetings, networking, and outreach strategies to initiate and develop relationships with target industries, commercial vehicle dealers, and fleet management companies.
- **Build and Maintain Client Relationships**: Develop strong, lasting relationships with key stakeholders to ensure long-term business growth and customer loyalty.
- **Promote Expertec’s Tailored Solutions**: Present and promote our range of commercial vehicle solutions, highlighting the unique value we offer to fleet managers, vehicle upfitters, and dealers.
- **Client Needs Assessment**: Work closely with clients to understand their unique needs, pain points, and objectives, and recommend tailored solutions that align with their business goals.
- **Achieve Sales Targets**: Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales goals, continuously working to expand our customer base in the Calgary area.
- **Track Sales Activity**:Keep detailed records of all client interactions, sales pipeline, and lead development activities in the company’s CRM system.
- **Market Analysis**: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify new opportunities and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
- **Collaborate with Internal Teams**: Work closely with the marketing, and operations teams to ensure client feedback is communicated and to assist with the creation of custom solutions for specific client needs.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally in a B2B environment. Preferably within the commercial vehicle or automotive industry.
- Demonstrated ability to generate qualified leads, close deals, and achieve sales targets.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a busy schedule on the road.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to frequently travel throughout the Vancouver metropolitan area, Vancouver Island, and British Columbia.
- Familiarity with CRM software and MS Office Suite.
