Accounts Payable Specialist

The **Accounts Payable Specialist** will be responsible for timely invoice processing and payments for Canada, operational and Corporate ledgers. Knowledge of Accounts Payable processes is beneficial as is the willingness to learn new programs and processes. This position will effectively and efficiently prepare and process payment vouchers for vendor invoices and employee expense reports in a timely manner.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Perform data entry of vendor invoices in a timely manner;
- Process cheque runs, submit for signature, and distribute cheques on a weekly basis;
- Research accounts payable issues and maintain good vendor relations;
- Coordinate with the vendor maintenance team for new vendor setup and updates;
- Reconciliation of travel accounts and expense reports for employees and managers;
- Assist with special projects within the accounting department;
- Reconciliation of Accounts Payable and General Ledger
- Perform additional duties as assigned, helping to create a better working environment.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

- **Minimum of 2 years high volume Accounts Payable experience**;
- Experience with enterprise wide accounting systems;
- Excellent computer skills using MS Office, Word, Excel Outlook, and accounting software; experience with JDE preferred;
- Must be able to work independently to achieve deadlines;
- Ability to interact effectively with vendor contacts and other team members;
- Possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
