We are currently looking for an experienced Permits Coordinator to join our Saskatoon team. Reporting to the Specialized Fleet Senior Manager, the Permits Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the safety & legality of transporting oversize and specialized loads for the Company.
Accountabilities
Oversees, directs and advises the completion of projects by department employees.
Researches, coordinates and applies for transportation permits to fulfill load requirements
Oversees new shipment orders to determine when and where permits are required.
Reviews commodity drawings and measurements for obtaining permits.
Completes routing for all orders which require permits.
Conduct regular route auditing to ensure efficiency and compliance with company standards.
Completes and submits permit forms and approvals to provinces and states.
Ensures adherence to provincial, state and federal provisions for specialized loads.
Assists the sales department with quoting rates for required permits and pilot drivers for specified loads.
Maintains communication with the dispatch department regarding load delays, permit progress and other issues related to permits.
Communicates, explains and advises information regarding permits to drivers, various internal departments, representatives of professional agencies.
Investigates and resolves problems or misunderstanding related to permits or routes.
Assists the sales department with quoting rates for required permits and pilot drivers for specified loads.
Arranges and coordinates pilot drivers and route surveys where required.
Maintains various spreadsheets and data, including tracking, pilot costs, invoicing and quotes.
Provides oversight and guidance to less experienced permits team members.
Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:
Minimum of 3 years of permitting experience within trucking industry.
Strong knowledge of provincial, state and federal provisions for specialized and over dimensional loads.
Strong leadership skills required.
Strong collaboration skills required.
Ability to read and comprehend detailed forms, such as state and provincial rules and regulations.
Effective time management skills, with the ability to handle situations of high stress.
Must be proficient in using various transportation and business management software.
Ability to use discretion and judgment in interpreting rules and guidelines.
Ability to complete moderately difficult written letters and detailed forms.
Must be available during non-business hours for emergency support as needed.
