Flexographic Machine Cutting/gluing Operator

Job Title: Flexographic Machine Cutting/Gluing Operator (NOC 73401)

Rayacom Print and Packaging BC Ltd. is a Printing and Packaging manufacturing company. We have a corrugated box division specializing in custom made corrugated boxes. We are currently looking for a Flexographic Machine Cutting/Gluing Operator (NOC 73401) for corrugated box industry. The person is responsible to operate corrugated boxes machines such as flexographic cutting and printing machine, gluing machine, and other various cutting and gluing machine.
- Review work orders to determine job specifications. Fill up forms to indicate paper machine count and waste
- Direct activities of other flexographic, gluing and packing personnel to ensure optimal flow.
- Conduct or assist in machine set up such as preparing and mounting print plates, setting up slots and scores, adjusting the glue section and rails, putting ink in the machine, getting, removing and washing print dies.
- Fill ink fountains and take measurements, make adjustments and determine settings to control colour and viscosity
- Set up press and check samples for ink coverage, alignment and registration
- Remove and clean plates and cylinders at end of press run
- Operates other cutting machines as needed directed **May assist in cleaning scraps in the factory**:

- Check and ensure that glue system is operating properly.
- Operate the flexographic and gluer machine and ensure that print, slots and scores are correct from a finished product and adjusts when required.
- Monitor regular runs for quality and consistency, visually and through conducting regular quality checks according to our procedures for in-process inspection.
- Troubleshoot by analyzing and resolving quality issues as they occur.
- Set up the machine for the next order.
- Prints finished goods load tags
- Reduce quality issues and improve efficiencies.
- Cleans and lubricates machines and performs other routine machine maintenance as per specified schedule. Turn in work order for machine maintenance as needed.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including conduct, Health & Safety, and maintaining good housekeeping.
- Train other colleagues with job duties on machine as needed.
- Additional duties related to this job classification as assigned by the production supervisor or manager.

**Requirements**:

- Able to speak English
- Strong technical experience in corrugate converting, preferably with 4 colour printing.
- Having experience in operating Made in China machines is an advantage but not required.
- Must have basic math skills especially in fractions and be able to use and read a tape measure.
- With prior flexographic machine corrugated experience (at least 1 year)
- Some computer experience would be considered an asset.
- Capable of prioritizing multiple tasks and deliver on tight deadlines.
- Able to interpret variety of instructions in the Job Sheets
- Able to provide and communicate sound information to Supervisor.
- Able to define problems, collect data/facts (observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources) and draw reasonable conclusions.
- Able to deal with various situations, to work independently as individual and part of a team.
- Willing to work overtime and weekends if needed

Terms of Employment: Full Time, Permanent Working

Hours: Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm

**Salary**: $34.65 per hour
