We are looking for people interested in learning and developing their careers in light, wood finishing manufacturing company for our client located in Surrey. 

 This is a permanent full-time position with a company that was founded in 1971 and just recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. Our client provides Western Canada with high-quality semi custom cabinets.

The CNC Machine Operator will load, operate and clear CNC and manual machines such as the edge bander machine to produce finished cabinet doors to specifications. 

The CNC Machine Operator will inspect and organize the doors coming off the machine, assures correct piece count and fills in the paper work.

This role offers opportunities for growth, cross-training and advancement.

You will:

  • Set up and operate one or more computerized or manual woodworking machines
  • Operate controls, set offsets, and inspect parts for conformance to requirements
  • Operate present and special purpose woodworking machines to fabricate wood products
  • Load and remove complete workpieces manually (able to lift 50lbs)
  • Read paperwork to select jobs and understand the work required to be done on the machine
  • Operate gluing machines to glue pieces together or press and affix wood veneer to wood surfaces
  • Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment
  • Measure finished product to ensure accuracy
  • Keep workstations tidy and in good order for the next operator
  • Detect equipment malfunctions or out -of-tolerance machinery and adjust machine if able or report any issues to the supervisors

You have:

  • 2+ years' experience operating machinery required, using an edge bander, or cabinetry experience would be an asset
  • Accuracy using a tape measure, and calipers would be an asset
  • Able to lift 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, etc. for 8 hours a day
  • Good English reading, writing and comprehension skills
  • Time management, prioritization skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and can work without direct supervision
 
Compensation: $18-20/hour
