**Summary**

The NWAC Assistant Event Planner will assist the Event Manager in the coordination of events from conception through to completion. This position requires full time flexible hours (able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays).

The Assistant Event Planner and will work under the authority and supervision of the Event Manager.

**General duties**

The NWAC Events Assistant will:

- Assist in planning, designing and producing events while assisting all project delivery elements within a time frame; events such as fundraising, high level meetings, workshops, training sessions, focus groups, board meetings, conferences and other;
- Assist in organizing facilities all event’s details such as décor, catering, entertainment, transportation and accommodation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional materials etc.
- Assist in preparing nametags, materials, notebooks, packages, gift backs, registration lists, seating cards etc.;
- Administration duties as assigned.
- Other related duties as assigned
- Travel within city

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree or college degree in related field from an accredited post-secondary institution;
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a related experience;
- Relevant experience working or volunteering with Indigenous peoples, groups, or organizations is an asset;
- Relevant experience working or volunteering with Not-for-Profit organizations or corporations is an asset.

**Working Conditions**
- Travel may be required.
- Interacts with employees, management, volunteers and the public at large.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Irregular hours.
- Overtime may be required.
- Fast paced environment and position.
