**Summary**
This position will report to the Director of Events on site at our Event Centre in Gatineau.
The Events Assistant is responsible for assisting and providing support with all of the Native Women's Association of Canada (NWAC) events to ensure event success.
The Assistant will ensure that all work is completed using culturally appropriate and gender-based lenses that respect First Nation, Métis, Inuit Women and Girls and Indigenous members of the 2SLGBTQQIA communities.
**General duties**
The NWAC Events Assistant will:
- Assist with a number of events, including conferences, seminars, dinners, and training.
- Accompany the Director of Events to both internal and external events.
- Support the Director of Events with logístical and administrative support.
- Assisting with creative decisions.
- Attending meetings to act as a second point of contact.
- Duties at events include, but not limited to, set up and tear down, guest list management, showing guests to tables and taking coats
- Other duties shall be assigned as required.
**Requirements**:
- Secondary School Diploma required.
- Post Secondary School Diploma in Business, Marketing, Public Relations or related field is an asset.
- 1+ years experience as an Event Assistant.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail
- Proven project management skills
- Confident with all Microsoft Office packages
- Fluency in English is essential. Bilingualism is a strong asset

**Working Conditions**
- Travel may be required.
- Interacts with employees, management, volunteers and the public at large.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Irregular hours.
- Overtime may be required.
