We are currently seeking a Summer Student, Administrative Assistant
- Policy Administration for our office located in Peterborough, Ontario. Reporting to the Senior Director of Policy, the successful applicant will be assisting with all day-to-day Policy Administration activities.

Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

- Support the OAHS Policy Team to accomplish annual workplan deliverables that align with OAHS’ Strategic Plan;
- Support and contribute to collaborative priorities of the Housing Policy Analyst Team;
- Prepare formal correspondence to external stakeholders and regularly communicate with stakeholders in a professional manner;
- Confidence and high proficiency with all Microsoft Office Suite programs including cloud-based Microsoft software and a variety of online portals;
- Record, transcribe, and distribute stakeholder meeting minutes, identifying key action items;
- Prepare general forms, letters, reports, presentations, and memos, as required;
- Organize and maintain corporate office filing and coordinate disposal of files in compliance with applicable record-keeping requirements;
- Access internal data, input data, and update databases as required;
- Ensure security, integrity, and confidentiality of data;
- Encourage and maintain a safe, secure, and pleasant work environment;
- Other duties as required to ensure effective and efficient operations;
- Knowledge, appreciation, and awareness of Indigenous cultures;
- Students studying Indigenous Studies, Political Science, Public Administration, and Urban Planning may be best suited and most interested in this position;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Professional communications skills, both written and orally, using multiple channels with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external;
- Strong coordination, organizational and analytical skills;
- Confidence and high proficiency with all Microsoft Office Suite programs including cloud-based Microsoft software and a variety of online portals;
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment with a focus on quality and accuracy;
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use sound judgment;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times;
- Ability to speak an Indigenous language is considered an asset.
- Is between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- Was registered as a full-time student in the current academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;
- Is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident; and;
- Is legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
