**Compensation: $20.71 per hour**

We are currently seeking an Summer Student
- Human Resources Assistant for our office located in Peterborough. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the successful applicant will be assisting with all day-to-day Human Resources activities.

Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Support OAHS’s mission and vision and make significant contributions to the achievement of the corporate strategic plan;
- Contributing to achievement of division and organization key performance indicators;
- Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office software products such as word, Excel, and PowerPoints documents;
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and demonstrated ability to contribute to achievement of team goals;
- Responsible to research current best practices and initiatives regarding HR issues and provide recommendations on updates and/or improvements to policies and procedures;
- Assist in the development of employee training programs and delivery training as required(utilizing on-line training provider); monitor progress and track completion
- Assist with benefit and pension program processing, and;
- Other duties as assigned;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a highly motivated, professional and results-oriented team;
- A combination of education and experience will be considered;
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment, with a focus on quality and accuracy;
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to use sound judgment;
- Demonstrated ability to communicate both written and orally using multiple channels with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external to the organization.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills;
- Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, and Excel;
- Knowledge of and an appreciation for Aboriginal culture and demonstrated values that focus on assisting people.
- Is between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- Was registered as a full-time student in the current academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;
- Is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident; and;
- Is legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
