Business Development Specialist

Schedule: Monday to Friday
Position: Full-Time, Permanent

**Salary**: From $70,000/year, plus bonus

Position Overview:
This position will be responsible for the improvement of Intercity Packers Meat and Seafood market position and achieving financial growth by defining long-term strategic goals, identifying business opportunities, securing new customers and negotiating contracts to secure their business. Working with the sales staff, the Business Development Specialist fosters relationships with prospects and transitions these accounts to the sales force.

Roles and Responsibilities:- Possess a high level of knowledge and understanding of the fresh cut meat and seafood production industry within the Alberta/Saskatchewan/Manitoba market.- Prepare and manage the development and execution of annual budgets and fiscal tools used to measure performance.- Coordinates the onboarding of new customers and product launches to ensure successful rollouts and manage customer portfolio profitability.- Collaborates with the Product Development team on new product offerings and innovative solutions for new opportunities.- Maintains contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.- Perform any other duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven Sales Leadership - There is passion in your message, impeccable follow up skills and you practice textbook accurate sales processes.- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related discipline preferred, or other sales related experience. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sales or Marketing is preferred.- Analytical skills to build various business development action plans and growth strategies.- Thorough knowledge and ongoing awareness of current sales and business development concepts and practices.- Proficiency with Google (Docs, Sheets, Hangout, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Excel).- Effective communication in an open and direct manner; conveys information clearly and concisely, with strong written and verbal communication skills.- Valid driver’s license, vehicle and able to travel as part of the job function- Respectfully and capably represents the best interests of Intercity Packers in all internal and external dealings.
