Petrogeological S.A. de C.V. is a leading provider of geophysical and geological consulting services, supporting energy and resource development projects through high-quality seismic analysis, subsurface interpretation, and technical advisory services.
We are currently seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Specialist to join our growing team in Calgary. This role is ideal for a professional with experience in energy services, geoscience consulting, or technical sales who is passionate about building strong client relationships and driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities
As a Business Development Specialist, you will be responsible for expanding the company's client base and supporting long-term growth initiatives.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Identifying, developing, and pursuing new business opportunities in the energy and geoscience sectors
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders
- Managing the full sales cycle, from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing
- Preparing proposals, presentations, and technical-commercial bids
- Collaborating with geoscience and project teams to develop tailored client solutions
- Representing the company at industry events, conferences, and networking activities
- Monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments
- Maintaining accurate sales records and client information in CRM systems
- Supporting account management and client retention initiatives
- Contributing to strategic planning and business development initiatives
Qualifications & Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates should have:
- 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management in energy, engineering, or technical consulting
- Background in geoscience, geology, geophysics, engineering, or energy services is a strong asset
- Proven ability to develop and close B2B consulting or technical service contracts
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience preparing proposals, bids, and commercial agreements
- Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and business development tools
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events as required
- Post-secondary education in business, engineering, geoscience, or a related field is preferred

Pay: $64,557.12-$84,239.31 per year
