Marketing Specialist and Event Planner

We are a local private academy, with classes in debate and reading and writing. Our office is in Vancouver (Kerrisdale). We are dedicated to offer students expert guidance to improve their academic AND life skills. We are driven to inspire kids to explore intrinsic motivation. We have trained thousands of students and won many awards, for example some of our debaters have been victorious at some of the world's most prestigious debate competitions such as Stanford and Harvard. **What we are looking for**

A digital marketing specialist and event planner who will work with the team in marketing, event planning and business development. We are looking for someone who is positive, reliable, CAN SPEAK MANDARIN, and whose schedule is flexible, who can work afternoons/evenings, and sometimes weekends 40 hours per week over 5 days in our Vancouver office.

**Responsibilities for the position will be, but are not necessarily limited to**:

- **Digital Marketing**:_
- Managing different social media platforms
- Managing paid advertisement on Google, Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, as well as other platforms if needed
- Developing company’s overall marketing strategy
- Creative digital and print marketing input and output
- Managing the team posting digital marketing materials on social media platforms like YouTube, Google, Facebook and Instagram, in Mandarin creating WeChat posts and other marketing materials
- Working with the team to update website using Wordpress
- **Event Planning**_
- Event planning such as seminars, student showcases, marketing events, yearly celebration events, coach/teacher promotion events
- Brainstorming and implementing ideas for seminars and extracurricular programs that change yearly
- **Other Managerial Responsibilities**:_
- Managing and coordinating the team to create videos, copywriting, visual and character design, website design etc.
- Attend and contribute to weekly staff meetings and agenda formation research, specifically with respect to topics of interest to our clients and which can be used to generate their interest in our products/services
- Modelling competency and professional behaviour for our high school volunteer interns
- Managing and coordinating video material collection and editing
- Overseeing ongoing company projects

**Qualifications**:

- FLUENT IN ENGLISH AND MANDARIN
- Willing to start from admin to learn the services we offer (debate and reading and writing) and how to communicate with our clients
- Digital marketing and event planning experience is a MUST
- Skilled video production for WeChat, YouTube, Facebook, Red, Instagram and so on
- Digital marketing skills using Google analytics, doing SEO optimization, and knowledge of other similar social media marketing tools
- Strong communication and people skills
- Strong project management skills
- Great customer service skills
- Excellent organization and multi-tasking abilities
- Strong work ethic and commitment to quality
- Flexible schedule
- Education background and experience is preferred

**Compensation**:

- Starting with 3 months trial period at $3200/month for 40 hours/week, 5 days per week
