**The opportunity**:
The Co-operative Education Coordinator develops co-op positions in both the private and public sectors (locally, nationally and internationally), proactively markets the program to both employers and students, markets students to employers, facilitates the placement of students in these positions, and ensures that both the student and employer fulfil the program requirements. The Co-ordinator will work with students in an advisory role assisting them with career development skills and employment issues. This role works closely with employers to educate, promote, and ensure satisfaction with the program. The Co-ordinator also contributes to the development and maintenance of co-op processes and policies.

**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:

- Undergraduate degree required.
- Degree with a major in Human Resource Management, Marketing or Business preferred.
- Certificate in Human Resource Management or Career Counselling would be an asset.
- Minimum two (2) years previous experience administering or managing a co-op, experiential learning or or internship program required.
- Program experience in career consulting and coaching required.
- Proven experience in the delivery of individual career planning and career development advice with experience in recruitment required.
- Experience developing program processes and requirements required.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain business relationships. Established network within the private and public sector would be preferred.
- Proficient in developing curriculum for modularized workshops and facilitation required.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills including demonstrated ability to manage projects or event planning is required.
- Demonstrated technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, Adobe, and knowledge of web site maintenance required.
- Familiarity with Drupal and CRM systems (Symplicity) is preferred.
- Knowledge of, and proficiency in, using social media platforms for marketing and recruitment purposes is required.
- Ability to conduct research on the internet required.
- Familiarity with international student issues and work permit legislation, and demonstrated ability to deal sensitively with cross cultural issues required.
- Strong networking, marketing and business development skills required.
- Must be able to professionally represent the co-op program of the ASB to potential and current employers, students, University representatives, high schools etc.
- Exceptional communication skills; verbal, written and demonstrated public presentation skills required. -Excellent organizational skills required.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Program management skills required.
- Proven ability to create, lead, and deliver programs to meet unit's needs required.
- Must be self-confident and proactive.
- Must be able to cold call employers and present information sessions promoting the co-op option to large audiences at diverse levels: high schools, university students, employers, government.
- Must be self-motivated and work well with little supervision.
- Must exhibit an initiative and innovative approach to program and service delivery.
- Sound decision making and problem resolution and negotiation skills with a customer service focus required.
- Excellent administrative skills required.
- Must be able to meet deadlines and deal positively with changing priorities and stressful situations.
- Proven ability to work effectively with technology to enhance efficiencies required.
- Must be willing to travel: locally, provincially and occasionally, nationally.
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
- Ability to travel within the city is required; access to a car would be an asset.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
