The Assistant-Supervisor is responsible for the directing, overseeing and the performance of the security staff under the NSOC-Supervisor’s directives and Client expectations. This would include the direction, training, and scheduling of the security In-House staff and assisting in selecting new staff. Preparing and maintaining necessary reports such as Security Guard Reports (SGRs). Meeting regularly with the client representative(s) (Operations Manager).
**Shifts**:
Must be able to commit to the assigned schedule consisting of:
- Be available to work all shifts. From 8-to-12-hour shifts of days, afternoons, evenings and overnights.
- Must be available on weekdays/weeknights, weekends, and statutory holidays.
- Cover extra shifts as required.
- Must be extremely flexible and available.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Assist in the selection of new staff and be responsible for their training and development.
- Prepare and maintain work schedules for all security staff ensuring the most effective and economical utilization of manpower.
- Ensure the Client Representative(s) is notified of any thefts or serious incidents forthwith and that the proper forms (Incident Report-IR) are completed.
- Ensure satisfactory standards of performance are maintained by effectively communicating with staff and other people involved to avoid errors and misunderstandings and to promote efficiency and goodwill.
- In conjunction with the NSOC-Supervisor and Client representative(s) (Operations Manager) effectively and quickly resolve day-to-day security related problems.
- Ensure a neat and presentable appearance of all security staff.
- Ensure work area and equipment are kept clean and in good working order.
- Monitor visitors, accessibility, carpool and reserved parking areas and issue tickets, as necessary.
- Receive visitors, contractors and off-site staff and ensure they are signed in and staff are called to greet and escort them to meetings and/or work area(s) as necessary.
- Assist the NSOC-Supervisor with updating Security Systems and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintaining continual communication with Client Representative(s). Ensure they are aware of situations prior to them escalating.
- Promote Teamwork amongst all Security Staff members.
**Qualifications**:
- 1-2 years previous Security Supervisory experience
- Must have a valid level C First Aid/CPR, AED certificate
- Must have a valid Ontario Security License
- Above average skills creating Excel spreadsheets, and reports
- Full working knowledge of the Clients VMS (Video Management Software).
- Full working knowledge of the Clients PSIM software. (Physical Security Information Management).
- Full working knowledge of the Clients IMS (Incident Management Software).
- Work with the client to maintain fire safety standards by conducting exterior fire cabinet checks, assisting with fire drills, and maintaining the fire warden list..
**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 44 per week
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- On call
- Weekends as needed
