We are looking for an individual that is outgoing, detail oriented, efficient and able to multi task. Someone curious that appreciates style and fashion trends.

Mainly focused on customer service and sales, description of tasks would be clerical work such as answering phones, greeting patients, booking appointments, invoicing, OHIP billing and pre testing patients.

Optometry or optician office work experience is an asset but not mandatory. Training will be provided.

Job Description - Optometric assistant
- Office administration and patient reception
- Respond effectively to each patient’s needs, and deliver care in a professional, efficient manner
- Take phone calls
- Prepare patients for eye exams.
- Administer pretesting examinations.
- Ensure the work environment remains safe, clean, and attractive to clients; this includes making sure eyeglasses inventory meets office demands
- Schedule appointments
- Manage patients appointments
- Update and organize patient records
- Ensure patient privacy
- Handling suppliers invoices, reconciliations and general book keeping
- Keep up to date on all relevant rules, practice regulations and office's procedures.
- Deliver knowledgeable, professional and polite customer-service
- Enhance the quality, availability & accessibility of vision-related health care
- Promote independent & ethical decision-making
- Patient instruction for contact lens insertion, removal and hygiene.
- Minor glasses repair.
- Verify vision insurance coverage information prior to the patient’s appointment and fill claims to the insurer (private or governmental) after the patient is seen.
- Perform collection activities for any outstanding bills
